Currency Exchange TEXT Format
First, click on the module « Currencies » to open the module and then select the action « Add Currrency » to create a new Currency.
Once the currency is created, you can fill the fields with appropriate information. For example, if you want to create the Euro currency, fill in the title, currency code, currency symbol and precision for the euro.
After saving the data just entered, select the action « Add currency exchange line » to define the currency exchange rate between the "Euro" currency and another currency.
Once the currency exchange line is created, fill the fields with appropriate information. For example, if you want to define how much a euro is worth in terms of Francs CFA, add a currency exchange line between the euro and CFA francs, fill the title as « Euro to Francs CFA », then fill the reference currency of the currency exchange line as CFA Francs (always fill this field in with the title of the currency you want to convert to), then define the fixing price which is the conversion rate between the two currencies. In this case, the fixing price is 655.957 because a euro is worth 655.957 FCFA .Beware of the start and stop dates: a currency exchange line is only available during the time period defined by those two dates. Let's define the start_date for this currency exchange line 17/11/2008 at 00:00 and the stop_date to be 19/11/2008 at 23:59. This means that this currency exchange line will only be valid between those dates. As a matter of fact, it can happen that the fixing price betweeen two currencies change, a euro may not be worth 655.957 FCFA on another date, so always set the start and stop dates of the currency exchange to define the validity period of the currency exchange line.
